Warning: This post contains spoilers for Star Trek: Picard season two!

With Admiral Picard and his crew having traveled back in time in an effort to prevent their current time from being turned into a xenophobic regime with aliens being eliminated or used as servants, there hasn’t been much focus on synthetics, especially given how last year’s focus was all about the androids. And with the exception of the first episode of the new season of Star Trek: Picard, there hasn’t been any sightings of Soji (Isa Briones) so it’s understandable that some fans are wanting to know where she is and what is happening to her in the new timeline.

While Picard and his team are trying to right the wrongs perpetuated by Q, there has been no mention of how synths have been affected or anyone else for that matter. And while it makes sense that the team would be focusing on putting things back in order, Soji was a member of Team Picard for most of the first season. She’s been on a diplomatic mission for over a year, introducing the world to synths and earning trust. But would the new government consider her an alien? Is she now in danger?

Star Trek: Picard includes more than just the base crew that is on the La Sirena.

With Picard in a rush to make things right in the world again, he’s taken off (with the others) on a time travel mission, but he, nor anyone else, has asked about Soji or expressed concern for where she might be in the new timeline. It’s easy to forget things in the midst of chaos, but Dr. Jurati was traveling with her before Captain Rios needed her help. And Soji hasn’t been mentioned again.

When asked by Decider where her character is during the new timeline, Isa Briones couldn’t offer much information beyond confirming that we would see her.

"“You will see me. I can’t quite specify to what capacity, as Evan [Evagora] also can’t. But you’re definitely going to see a lot of new character development delving into very different parts of all of our characters, especially in this new reality they’re all thrown into.”"

This sounds like we might see Soji in the new environment. If that’s the case, there will be other scenes taking place in the reality Picard and his crew just left. Perhaps he and his team will be able to watch to see what’s going on. There’s no way of knowing for sure until we watch it, but here is hoping that Soji can be rejoined with the team, if not in 2024 then in the 25th century when they all return to a world that has been fixed.
