Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is coming soon.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will follow Captain Christopher Pike as he explores the cosmos as a prequel to the original Star Trek: The Original Series. It will tell the story of Pike, as he leads the USS Enterprise, which will eventually see him bound to a chair, burned and barely responsive, after an accident aboard the Enterprise.
The show is coming to television screens on May 5, 2022, via Paramount+ for those who have access to it. The areas of the world that don’t have Paramount+ as of launch should keep popping back into Redshirts Always Die for more information about where they can watch the show. The show already has a second season announced and has already begun filming.
The cast for this massive series includes Star Trek: Discovery actors Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, and Ethan Peck’s Christopher Pike, Una Cin-Riley (Number One), and Spock respectively. Joining them includes Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas, Bruce Horak as Hemmer, and the more recently announced Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk.
Fans may not know who some of these characters are, and that’s ok. Some of these characters only appeared in the original pilot of Star Trek, called “The Cage”, and were reworked into the two-part series “The Menagerie”.
So it’s not surprising that you may not be familiar with these characters and Star Trek is here to help introduce you to all of them, save for Mount’s Pike. If you’re hoping for a little back story on these characters check out the videos below.
