Michelle Hurd plays Raffi on Star Trek Picard.

Star Trek: Picard is only two episodes away from ending its second season, and there’s only one season left until the series comes to an end. Though next season will be bittersweet for the actors who’ve brought us this series, it also comes with some excitement as most of the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation will be appearing as well. And Michelle Hurd, when speaking to Comicbook.com, described herself as “giddy as all get up” to be working with the veteran actors.

Hurd grew up watching the actors from The Next Generation, and she said she was smiling ear to ear when she discovered she’d be working with them, in much the same way she felt when she learned she’d be working with Patrick Stewart.

"“You tremble from the inside out. I mean, I’m an actor, and these are people who I’ve been watching, and I’m going to actually stand side by side on a set and speak words and they’re going to speak words back to me.”"

Michelle Hurd says she’ll be forever thankful for Raffi.

Raffi’s journey since Picard began hasn’t been an easy one. Hurd described her character as someone who is “haunted and passionate and feels really deeply.” And the loss of Elnor this season has struck her hard, and over the course of the last few episodes, we’ve seen Raffi’s grief manifesting as anger and bitterness, which Hurd has played exceptionally well.

Though Raffi is a complicated character, Hurd says she’ll be forever grateful for her and Star Trek. She admits she’s had an unbelieveable experience and adventure and calls herself the luckiest, most spoiled actress. She wouldn’t say anything about what we can expect for the final season of Picard, not even which actors she shared the screen with, but she did say that she pinches herself just like a fan would. And when the actors are this excited, odds are good we’re heading towards a wrap-up that we will never forget.
