Could we see cameos from Star Trek’s Voyager and Deep Space Nine on Picard?

Star Trek: Picard will have some pretty big returns for season three, as the series will bow out with a massive reunion of Star Trek: The Next Generation stars. Every starring member of The Next Generation will be on the show, reuniting with Patrick Stewart in what is expected to be Stewart’s last turn as Jean-Luc Picard, as well as his last turn in anything Star Trek-related.

The entire cast is back and will follow in the footsteps of John de Lancie, Whoopi Goldberg, and Wil Wheaton as TNG cast member’s who returned to the franchise in season two. Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, and Marina Sirtis already returned in season one, and Voyager star Jeri Ryan also debuted on the show in the first reason as well.

While Goldberg, de Lancie, Spiner, and the others all made sense for spots in the first two seasons, seeing Ryan was a bit odd as she was on Voyager, not the Next Generation. It turns out, however, that Ryan may not be the only Voyager cast member who’ll be appearing on Picard.

When asked if rumors of a potential Voyager or Deep Space Nine cameo happening in season three of Picard, Picard showrunner Terry Matalas was beyond coy.

It’d be great to see a few cameos from Deep Space Nine and Voyager

While Picard has not been the most welcomed show in the Star Trek canon, fans would be happy to see characters from past Star Trek series pop up in a cameo role. Even if they aren’t large roles. Just seeing one more go around with Quark, or seeing Jake Sisco meet Harry Kim would be minor little moments that fans would be able to really appreciate for years to come.

While Prodigy and Lower Decks is also using past Trek characters, Picard may be the last time we see these actors reprise their characters in a live-action format. That can’t be ignored or dismissed. Fans deserve to see some of their favorites one last-time in live-action before Picard and that era of Star Trek bows out for good.
