It turns out Jean-Luc Picard is going to captain the USS Stargazer and not Seven of Nine

The USS Stargazer was introduced in the first episode of Star Trek: Picard’s second season. It was captained by Rios at first and then Seven of Nine to close out the season. Well all thought that’s how the third season would start, with Seven in the chair, but it turns out Jean-Luc Picard isn’t as done as we thought he was.

There’s a new comic coming out at IDW, and it will explore the ship, Picard, and the events between seasons two and three of the series. The new comic is going to be a three-issue mini-series coming out called Star Trek: Picard – Stargazer and will be in three parts. The books will be written by Mike Johnson and Kristen Beyer, with Angel Hernandez doing the art.

The book will be canonical and will explore Jean-Luc Picard’s return to the captain’s chair of the USS Stargazer. Effectively bringing an end to the conversation of Seven of Nine getting her own ship finally.
