Star Trek’s newest collectible is a USS Enterprise Playmobil playset featuring the original cast.

Star Trek is known for many things, and one of those is the incredible collectibles that fans are always looking to get their hands on. One of the newer items is the USS Enterprise playset featuring the first Enterprise and the original cast in all of their Playmobil glory. The set comes with Captain James Kirk, Spock, Nyota Uhura, Pavel Chekov, Hikaru Sulu, Dr. Leonard McCoy, and Montgomery “Scotty” Scott in all of their Playmobil wonder.

It’s huge, and thanks to Gizmodo, fans can get a really good look at just how big this whole set is. The ship set is massive and towers over the Delorean from Back to the Future, and thanks to a sturdy stand, designed like the Starfleet Delta symbol, the ship won’t be going anywhere.

The attention to detail and authenticity is among the most impressive items about this ship. The ship’s bridge isn’t to scale, but it does feature a near-accurate representation of how the ship is laid out, with an accurate take on the items found on the consoles and the wall.

The ship even comes with its own set of Tribbles to help disrupt the daily activities of the ship. The base of the ship itself features a compartment for Scotty to hang out and work on stuff because that’s what he does best.

What holds the Playmobil set back if at all?

While Gizmodo’s write is mostly positive, there are some gaffs that need to be addressed. Firstly, the Sulu character looks off. Playmobil and other toys like Legos suffer from the same issue and that’s the lack of realism or accuracy when creating character-specific pieces.

Sulu and to a lesser extent, Checkov, Bones, and Scotty all suffer from this. If it weren’t for the color of their shirts, it’d be hard to tell them all apart.

That’s to be expected when you get a brand like Playmobil. Realism was never their bag. The ship costs $499.99 and is on sale finally on Playmobil’s website. Don’t worry, the shipping is free.
