Which Star Trek film in the Kelvin timeline comes out on top?

At my nearly 34 years of age, like many others in my generation I was introduced to Star Trek through the magic of Netflix. At the time of my discovery (no pun intented) the first 5 Trek series were available on the streaming platform, while the first 10 films were absent. Because of this, the first Trek film I ever viewed was actually Star Trek 2009, the first of the rebooted films (also known as the “Kelvin Timeline” films) Because of the adventures of Chris Pine and Zachery Quento portraying a young Jim Kirk and Spock being my first exposure to the theamatic world of Trek, those 3 films will always hold a place in my heart.

Much speculation has been thrown around all over the internet regarding a fourth film in the timeline, and while rumors abound, let us rank the 3 current films from “worst” to “best.” But as my friend, colleague, and fellow Trekkie, Chad Porto, has pointed out in his own fantastic articles, ranking worst to best of anything is purely subjective, and your opinions are bound to differ from my own, and that is perfectly all right. In fact, isn’t that what the internet is for?

Having said that, what follows is what I personally believe to be the proper order, but, of course, I always welcome differing views in the comments section below.

Let us be clear about one more item before we get started. When I say “worst” to “best” I honestly believe all 3 films are very good, enjoyable, and entertaining films. Each film has its own marrits and all 3 are tremendous additions to the Star Trek cannon in their own right. There really isn’t a film among the 3 that I did not completely enjoy.
