Star Trek: Lower Decks has revealed a sneak peek at season three.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is one of the more popular series of the Nu Trek era. It’s an animated, adult comedy, which features the lesser talked about members of a ship, and how they go about their day.

It’s not a slice-of-life adventure like some Anime in Japan can produce, as all of the adventures that the main characters of Lower Decks go on are far from your average Starfleet dealings. Still, its over-the-top sense of humor has found its niche and while it isn’t setting the world on fire, it does have its fans.

So it’s not surprising that the series has a brand new clip out, hyping up its eventual release for season three. Courtesy of Wil Wheaton and the Ready Room, the series showcased a new scene for the upcoming season, and it should check all the right boxes for fans of the show.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is already hyping up season three.

The clip shows main characters Boilmer and Mariner at Boilmer’s family vineyard, ala Jean-Luc Picard, discussing a plant to get Mariner’s mother, Captain Freeman, exonerated after she was taken into custody at the end of season two.

The rest of the episode is worth watching, as it includes Ethan Peck, who plays Spock on Strange New Worlds, and series executive producer Henry Alsono Myers, talking about the series and a tour of the Strange New Worlds sets.

I’ve never personally got into Lower Decks, but I’ve also found myself being kind of over the Ricky and Morty style humor Lower Decks embraces (dare I say; rips off?)

So it’s never been my cup of tea but if you like that Rick and Morty humor, you’re going to like Lower Decks. If not, may I recommend Strange New Worlds, which just ended its first season?
