Star Trek’s Picard and Strange New Worlds land five Emmy nominations.

Star Trek is having a year. Both of their series, Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds were nominated for a combined five Emmy nominations this year, with four going to Picard and just one going to Strange New Worlds.

Picard was nominated for, Outstanding Period And/Or Character Makeup (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup, Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour), and Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes.

All while Strange New Worlds picked up one nomination for Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour).

The episodes that got nominated for Picard were “Hide and Seek” for the non-prosthetic makeup award, while that episode was also nominated for best prosthetic makeup as well. “Penance” was also nominated for the sci-fi costumes award, as well as sound editing.

Strange New Worlds and Picard will go head to head for the Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour) award.

So many shows, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds included, got snubbed

The fans of shows like Strange New Worlds are livid that their series got robbed, and frankly, Strange New Worlds is too good of a show to not be nominated for more awards. It’s a technical masterpiece in so many ways.

Yet, on the other hand, I really don’t care that it didn’t get more nominations. I wouldn’t have cared if it got any. If we learned one thing, is that the opinions of others don’t determine the quality of a piece of media.

In fact, we’ve seen so many terribly written shows in recent years get Emmy Nominations, so why fans are bent out of shape over it is really anyone’s guess.

Strange New Worlds is getting a second season and really, that’s all that matters.
