3 new ideas for the unannounced Star Trek shows in production
By Chad Porto
Star Trek has two shows in production and we’re hoping they’re using one of these ideas.
Star Trek will be adding more shows to the lineup in the not-so-distant future, with Alex Kurtzman confirming to fans at San Diego Comic-Con that two more series are in production as we speak. The two most likely candidates are the long-awaited Section 31 series and a Seven of Nine spinoff series.
Neither show appeals to fans the way that Strange New Worlds has done, though if Seven of Nine is less about her, and more about her as a captain of a ship, that may be a different beast entirely.
Though, let’s just leave Section 31 in developmental hell, ok? Not many fans actually want to see the bad guys of Starfleet running around torturing people. It’d be crass and just uncouth. We have three other shows that we’d like to see and would make more sense in the long run.
Quick note, a Worf-centric show was considered, but let’s see how Michael Dorn does with the Picard reunion before we greenlight another Next Generation show.
Three ideas we hope are the next Star Trek series
Enterprise revival
All we want is T’Pal and Archer babies, with them going back in time to save Charles “Trip” Tucker and the crew going on some more adventures. That’s it. That’s the entire show.
Voyager revival
Kate Mulgrew super hinted that the cast may not be done. She is on record that the cast wants another shot at the screen and by the sound of it, something may be in the works. Maybe that means surprise cameos in Picard or Prodigy, or maybe it means that a Seven of Nine spinoff series may focus on the Voyager crew. Who knows, but we want our favorite character from Star Trek: Voyager back, at least one more time. And yes, that includes Neelix.
USS Farragut (James Kirk prequel)
The best idea for a spinoff series is one featuring James Kirk on the USS Farragut, adventuring his way through space while flirting with every hot space babe he finds. It’d be a neat show for the fact that it would show us how Kirk would respond to authority, as opposed to how he would lead. It’d be a nice change of pace for a character we hardly ever see as anything other than captain.
