What is the secret for Star Trek: Picard’s third and final season?

Star Trek: Picard is promising several major things for the series’ final season. We’re getting a reunion of the entire Star Trek: The Next Generation main cast, save for Denise Crosby (or are we?!?), we’re getting Patrick Stewart’s last send-off as Picard (ugh, or are we…) and we’re getting a huge reveal pertaining to Beverly Crusher and Jean-Luc Picard.

The former Enterprise doctor and captain had a thing throughout their time together in Star Trek and many long believed the two had been romantic at a time. The depth of their romantic coupling has long been debated and theorized.

It appears as this “family secret” as it’s alluded to seems to revolve around their romantic pairing. So what could the secret be? Well, we have some ideas.

Three possible secrets that could be revealed in Star Trek: Picard?

Wesley Crusher is Jean-Luc Picard’s real son

Picard’s worse nightmare. Come to life. Being associated with Wesley anymore than he has to be.

Beverly Crusher and Jean-Luc Picard had a secret love child

In a much less traumatic theory, Wesley’s mom, Beverly, and Picard had a love child that no one knew about sometime after the events of Nemesis. Which may be hard to pull off, as Crusher would be in her 50s by the time Nemesis came around. So its possible that during Crusher’s one year-exodous from the ship (seson 2), that she actually gave birth to Picard’s child unbeknownst to the Captain.

Jean-Luc Picard’s nephew survived the fire and is hunting him down

Revenge! Or, something to that effect. Rene wasn’t seen much in Star Trek: The Next Generation but his death was one of the largest plot points of Star Trek Generations. Picard mourns not only the deaths of his brother and nephew but deals with the fact that there will be no more Picards to carry on the family name once he’s gone. Bring back Rene will really shake things up, and would make for one interesting story.
