Will Montgomery “Scotty” Scott debut on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds?

We know that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is all about giving fans glimpses of what will be. We know this because Discovery started the trend. We saw Spock with his Emo beard, then we got Captain Pike and Number One (Una Chin-Riley), with Pike in those awful blue and gold uniforms.

Then in Strange New Worlds, we got Khan Noonien Singh’s ancestor, Uhura, and eventually James Kirk. Not to mention the Gorn. So we’ve seen quite a bit of will for the future of Star Trek. So when the talk of seeing Montgomery “Scotty” Scott eventually in Strange New Worlds came up, fans were hoping they wouldn’t have to wait too long.

Scotty did have a minor cameo in the season finale of Strange New Worlds’ first season, but it was just his voice and nothing else. TVLine caught up with co-showrunner Henry Alonso Myers and talked to him about how and when we’ll see the engineering genius, with Myers saying;

"We felt like he would be on the Enterprise at that point [in the alternate future], but we didn’t want to commit to that character yet because that character is something we’re looking forward to in the future at some point on Strange New Worlds."

Fans should just expect to see the entire original cast appear at this point

It’s clear that we’re going to get a huge Scotty-focused episode eventually with Strange New Worlds. With Kirk, Spock, Uhura, and now Scotty (to a degree) all being part of the show, fans shouldn’t be too surprised when they finally see Sulu and Chekov join the brand.

While Strange New Worlds is very much the Captain Pike show, part of the purpose of the series is to tell the story of the Enterprise as well. How it went from Pike to Kirk and the details in-between.

So don’t be surprised when we see even more original series characters pop up, after all, it’s a prequel to the original series for a reason.
