For Star Trek, it’s Nerf or nothing!

There are just some things out there that are so cool they have to be talked about. For fans of a certain age, there was nothing cooler than Star Trek and Nerf. Well, Star Trek,  Nerf, and Super Soakers, but nothing else. Well, and Nickelodeons Gak…ok you get the point. Yet, of all the cool things we ever thought about as a kid, we never thought that they’d be slammed together into one of the coolest things ever.

That’s right, Nerf is releasing their very own Star Trek-infused toy. The partnership will coincide with the 35th anniversary of Star Trek: The Next Generation and the new line of toys is helping celebrate that anniversary.

The toys themselves aren’t modeled after the TNG series but after the film; First Contact, which saw the weapons get modified to take on The Borg. For the price of $119.00, you can get a Type 2 handheld phaser and a Type 3 phaser rifle.

You can purchase the items here at the official link to the Hasbro website. The items will ship just in time for the Christmas and holiday season, shipping out on Nov. 23, 2022.

The Nerf x Star Trek toys are cool but…

The rifle and handheld phaser as Nerf toys are cool, but if we’re being honest, I’m not exactly over the moon with the color scheme. The green on the rifle is interesting and the Borg-infused tech does give it something extra but the green and the Nerf blue and orange clash pretty hard. Not to mention the white is a bit draining around the color scheme.

The rifles and phasers are traditionally grey and that would’ve been a better option in my opinion for the base color of the rifle and handheld but that’s just my opinion. This toy is great for any young Star Trek fan or collector regardless of the color scheme.
