Finally, we know when two of our favorite Star Trek series are returning to Paramount+.

We kind of wanted to know when Star Trek: Picard would return, and we kind of didn’t want to know because this is the series final season. No more Patrick Stewart, Jeri Ryan, or Michelle Hurd, unless there is a spin-off with Ryan and Hurd, which many fans are interested in. At any rate, as we expected, Picard will return after the new year on February 16, 2023. And along with the release date, Paramount shared [via Variety], a final sneak peek of season three.

Star Trek Day also brought the release date for Star Trek: Prodigy.

Star Trek: Prodigy wrapped up the first half of its premiere season on February 3 of this year. It ended on a cliffhanger with the crew of the Protostar being chased by Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgew) aboard the USS Dauntless. Janeway is on a mission to find the missing Captain Chakotay (Robert Beltran).

Prodigy will return on October 27th to finish out its first season. Along with the returning characters, one from season two of Star Trek: The Next Generation will also be joining the crew. Billy Campbell will reprise his role as Thadium Okona, and it’s doubtful the crew will get much helpful advice from him.

Disappointingly, Prodigy Paramount+ didn’t share an official trailer of the remainder of the season, but it did share a scene about Murf’s Metamorphosis. There’s also a brief clip about Admiral Janeway’s being hot on the trail of the Protostar with Dal refusing to open a communications channel for fear of the Dauntless being infected by the living construct.

It’s a great scene, but I wish there was more to see about the upcoming final episodes of the first season, though, we don’t have as long to wait for answers on this series as we do on Star Trek: Picard.

Are you excited about the return of these series? Which one are you looking forward to the most?

Next. Star Trek: Prodigy will let the characters grow up on the show. dark
