Isa Briones won’t be returning to Star Trek: Picard for its final season.

Isa Briones is one of several cast members who has filmed her final scene for Star Trek: Picard. Briones ended the second season as Kore, the artifically-created daughter of Dr. Soong (Brent Spiner) whose eyes had been opened to her father’s lies. She wasn’t quite sure what she was going to do with the rest of her life, and in a scene that surprised fans everywhere, Wil Wheaton showed up to show her the way.

Portraying a Traveler from his Star Trek: The Next Generation days, Wheaton was as excited about working with Briones as she was with him, according to the Star Trek: Picard panel at the 56-Year Mission convention in Las Vegas [via Trekmovie] where Briones was a guest. She said she’d met and formed a friendship with Wheaton when appearing on The Ready Room, which Wheaton hosts.

Isa Briones is more than okay with returning to her season two character.

Though the scene Briones and Wheaton filmed together was brief, and so was the time they spent together (it was actually Briones’ last day of filming, and they only worked together one day), she got really emotional working with him. She said one of the first things Wheaton said to her was “I have been waiting so many years to come back here and I am so happy to do it with you.”

She and Wheaton worked well together in the short scene, and Briones says she is down to return to the Kore character in a Traveler series with Wheaton.

"And hey, I’m ready to do a Traveler spin-off. I want to do buddy-cop, Wesley Crusher and Kore take on the universe. I am down."

When you think about it, this actually isn’t a bad idea. It would certainly be a unique Star Trek spin-off. So perhaps the powers-that-be should seriously consider this.
