Star Trek 4 may be getting Euphoria star, Sydney Sweeney.

There are few shows that have captured the youth-focused zeitgeist as Europhia has. While the show is controversial for its depictions and almost glamorization of unhealthy practices, the HBO show has become a massive hit after only two years and part of that has to do with the case. Marvel star Zendaya Coleman, aka Zendaya, leads the way with many fans and critics singing her praises for the show. Zendaya, however, was an established name long before Euphoria. One of the newer names to arrive thanks in part to Europhria is Sydney Sweeney.

According to Giant Freaking Robot, who has a track record of getting stuff like this right, claims to have a source that says Sweeney is in talks to join Star Trek 4. There are no confirmations as to what she’s going to do with the film or even if she ends up signing, but she’s appeared on the shortlist for the film.

With rumors that the fourth Star Trek film may see the involvement of the Kelvin Timeline’s Next Generation era of characters. She could very easily play a TNG character. The idea isn’t well flushed out, as the 4th film rebooting the TNG characters may be a fallback plan should the original cast of the Kelvin Timeline not return for the fourth film.

Or it could be that the fourth film will see the Kelvin TOS crew meet the TNG crew in a passing of the torch moment, setting up a TNG-focused Star Trek 5. Who knows, that’s just rumor and speculation at this point.

The perfect character for Sydney Sweeney to play isn’t even a consideration

If it’s just the Enterprise crew from the first three Star Trek films, she’d clearly play Nurse Chapel. Considering that Anson Yelchin has since passed away, bringing in Chapel would be a way to help fans move on from the loss of Pavel Chekov.

If it’s a TNG film, she could ideally play any of the three female main characters from the show; Tasha Yar, Beverly Crusher, or Deanna Troi.

Yet, the character she’s best suited for would be a rebooted Seven of Nine. She looks like a younger Jeri Ryan, and considering Ryan and Sweeney are known for their sex appeal, she would fit seamlessly into the character.

Now, if she could only sing like Ryan…
