The cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation has a special message to fans.

The Star Trek franchise has been a part of our lives since 1966. Star Trek: The Next Generation has held a spot in many Trekkies’ hearts since it debuted in 1987, and those who adore the series have remained dedicated to it and the spot it fills in the franchise history. The characters became like family to us. The lessons we learned were applicable to our daily lives, and we became better people by watching this future we wanted to see unfolding before our eyes.

The actors behind the characters of The Next Generation haven’t forgotten the Trekkies who have stood beside them for these thirty-plus years, and at the reunion of the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast at New York Comic Con [via Trekmovie], they debuted a trailer not only thanking the fans but telling us what our dedication has meant to them.

Star Trek: The Next Generation gave many actors their careers while giving fans something to look forward to and believe in each week.

Each member of the cast took a turn expressing gratitude with Brent Spiner, humorously claiming to be in his mid-forties now, saying he was so much more appreciative of this journey we’ve all taken with them. Marina Sirtis thanked the fans for her career and went on to say we were the most loyal fans in the history of show business. On this, all Trekkies would agree.

The trailer is a gift to all of us who have loved and continue to love this franchise. Through the good and the bad, the ups and the downs, we love Star Trek, and years from now, we’ll still be here, watching the reruns and, hopefully, catching each new series as it debuts.
