Penny Johnson Jerald portrays Dr. Finn on The Orville: New Horizons.

Since the third season of The Orville: New Horizons ended in August, fans have been on edge waiting for news of a fourth season renewal. The actors are already on board for another season, and Seth MacFarlane, the show’s creator and star, recently tweeted that they are all still currently awaiting season four news. And we’re now starting the fifth month with no information. So perhaps it’s time to get a little more proactive if you want Disney to renew this stellar series. Penny Johnson Jerald seems to think so.

Talking with the Youtube channel, Talking the Orville, Jerald suggested ways for fans to get involved if they want to see The Orville return.

"If you love The Orville, you need to tell someone. You need to not just tell your neighbor. You need to reach out and tell ten to twenty friends and let them tell ten or twenty friends. I say commit from the beginning to the end of season three, and if you like it, say something."

Penny Johnson Jerald said Dr. Claire Finn finally got to be a woman in season three.

The final episode of the third season focused on the beautiful wedding between Dr. Finn and Isaac, and even though he is an emotionless android, their romance was one of the highlights of the season. Jerald said during the first two seasons we got to see her as a mother with some bits of romance, but this season we got Claire’s history, and we finally understand how she is where she is. And this is only the beginning. Jerald went on to say she really enjoyed playing Clarie this season, and she hopes she [the character] lives on and on.

Though the season finale might have seemed like a series finale, there are so many more stories to tell about these characters. Jerald summed it up perfectly when she said “the season ended with something you can begin with because it’s a whole new journey.”
