Terry Matalas may have given a clue as to who is playing the USS Titan captain

Star Trek: Picard is bringing in the USS Titan’s successor but who is the captain of the ship?
Terry Matalas is pretty dead set on giving us the best season of Star Trek: Picard he possibly can, with plenty of callbacks and nods to the show’s predecessor, The Next Generation. That includes bringing in a whole host of past characters, including the majority of main characters from the show.
We’re also expecting some Enterprise action at some point and Matalas is even bringing in a deep cut from the franchise, the USS Titan. Not the very same ship Will Riker captained in the extended universe but a new version.
We don’t know who’s captaining the ship, though we do know the character will have a large impact on the show, as he’s described as “…not a character you’ve ever seen before and you will be hearing more about the Titan-A from this captain. And it’s an actor that I’m very, very fond of.”
Now, Matalas didn’t say he or she, so why are we assuming it’s a guy? Well, one on Twitter tweeted out that the character Deacon from 12 Monkeys the show, would work well as a Starfleet captain.
Matalas responded coyly, and while a 12 Monkey’s character isn’t coming to the show, the man who played him, Todd Stashwick, very well could be.
Star Trek: Picard’s Terry Matalas created the 12 Monkeys series
Since Matalas created the 12 Monkeys show and took over Picard, it would hazard a reasonable guess that he’d probably want to bring in some of his favorite actors and actresses into as many projects as possible.
It’s something that most directors and showrunners do constantly across various projects. So why wouldn’t Matalas do it for Picard?
Could Matalas be bringing in Stashwick to play the captain of the Titan? Sure. Could he just be being mischievous and throwing fans off the trail? Absolutely.
