Star Trek had five shows air throughout 2022 but who had the top slot?

Star Trek had a very successful year in 2022. Five shows all aired new episodes during the year, giving fans a lot to watch and enjoy. Prodigy, Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds, and Lower Decks all gave fans loads of content this year and fans loved it.

Well, some fans loved more of it than others, and some fans loved very little, while others didn’t love any of it. We loved a lot of it, but not all of it. See, we don’t subscribe to the gamekeeper mentality of having to like everything a franchise does.

They had some hits, some misses, and some stuff in between, and we’re going to tell you who we thought did the best to be consistent in 2022.

Ranking the Star Trek shows that aired in 2022

5. Star Trek: Discovery

Star Trek: Discovery won a lot of fans over with their third season, and expectations were high for season four, but sadly the show didn’t capitalize on the goodwill season three gave people. There was no one (not literally no one) talking about the show. There weren’t any memorable moments or witty scenes that trended online. Nothing. Discovery isn’t “bad”, it’s worse. It’s boring.

4. Star Trek: Picard

Picard isn’t as bad as Discovery because it wasn’t boring. It just wasn’t good. The show got the fourth spot because we got Guinan, Q, and Wesley Crusher back from The Next Generation. It wasn’t a well-done season, and it left a lot to be desired but it was neat to see some of our favorite characters again.

3. Star Trek: Lower Decks

Lower Decks split the difference. It wasn’t overly exciting and the plot certainly didn’t keep us enthralled but it did help create some memorable moments, like their trip to Deep Space Nine. It’s perfectly acceptable Trek.

2. Star Trek: Prodigy

Prodigy technically debuted at the end of 2021, but the first part of the season ended in the first quarter of 2022. Outside of having to wait nearly six months in between episodes, Prodigy delivered. The show got too hung up on the Diviner storyline. The non-Divinier stuff was great but the stuff with him was really holding it back.

1. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Strange New Worlds is the most watched Trek in years, as it was one of the best-performing shows according to various websites that track this kind of thing. It deserved it too. It created a show that had people talking who weren’t even Star Trek fans. It was an incredible show and we’re hoping it keeps the same energy and vibe for season two.
