Star Trek: Prodigy will be bringing in “a lot more” legacy characters for Season 2
By Chad Porto
Star Trek: Prodigy is promising even more legacy characters in Season 2
Star Trek: Prodigy really brought in a load of new and old characters alike for season one. While we’re familiar with the new, the legacy characters the show brought in included Kathryn Janeway, Admiral Jellico, Captain Chakotay, Spock, Uhura, Scotty, Beverly Crusher, Odo, and a few others.
It was quite a cavalcade of characters, just about everyone was voiced once again by their original actors and actresses. Even those that had passed away at the time of the recording. Instead of bringing in someone who sounded like one of the legacy characters, they just used old lines from past Trek shows, helping create some authenticity to the characters and interactions.
So if you liked the Legacy characters in season one, you’re going to love season two.
Star Trek: Prodigy season two to bring in a lot more legacy characters
The producers of Star Trek: Prodigy, Dan and Kevin Hageman talked about what fans can expect in season two in the video above. Telling fans that they’re going to see far more familiar faces in the upcoming second season of the show.
Who that could include is anyone’s guess, and considering the brilliant ability by the crew to sample dialogue from past characters whose actors and actresses couldn’t supply lines anymore worked to perfection, the show isn’t just limited to those stars who are still with us.
Considering the way the Hageman’s phrased their statement, it seems to imply we’re getting legacy characters who have not appeared on Prodigy yet, on top of the ones we already got. So more Kathryn Janeway, more Chakotay, and maybe more Star Trek: Voyager characters?
Bringing in the likes of Harry Kim and Tom Paris, even Seven of Nine, among others, would be a welcomed addition to the franchise.
