Star Trek: Picard has a lot in store for fans if the trailers are anything to go by.

With the third season of Star Trek: Picard only a little over a month away, Paramount has revealed the newest poster for the series which includes most of everyone that will be appearing this season. It does not include the “Next Gen and Next Gen-adjascent characters” that Terry Matalas mentioned at the annual winter Television Critics Association event. [via Trekcore]

We already know Daniel Davis is returning as Dr. Moriarty, the hologram with an axe to grind against Admiral Picard and most of the former Enterprise’s crew, but so far, that has been the only former The Next Generation guest star that has been revealed.

Who could The Next Generation-adjacent characters be that appear in Star Trek: Picard?

This is something Matalas and Alex Kurtzman are keeping entirely under wraps, not even offering the slightest hint on Paramount’s official Star Trek Twitter account when the poster dropped with the teasing tagline “Prepare for a once in a generation adventure.”  But there have been speculations such as Reginald Barclay (Dwight Schultz), who has a lot of experience with holograms and could potentially add a big assist when dealing with Dr. Moriarty.

In the meantime, Gates McFadden dropped a wonderful picture of her, Patrick Stewart, Michelle Hurd, and Jeri Ryan that just ups the anticipation for the premiere.

Both McFadden’s image and the trailer have most fans on edge and ready for the premiere. How about you? Are you gearing up to watch season three, and what could be the final season, of the series?
