William Shatner has been in show business since he was six years old and has no interest in taking it easy.

Whether it’s a new album, narrating and hosting a series, or competitively riding his horses, William Shatner simply doesn’t know what it’s like to not be busy. It’s not surprising considering he has spent decades working, getting his first acting role when he was just six years old. And as he recently told Eonline, he’s never done anything else. His entire life has been about entertaining.

"“I’ve never done anything else. I’ve never driven a taxi, I’ve never waited tables. I’ve never taken an unemployment insurance check. I was always just trying to find something to do that entertains you.”"

And those things bring the actor joy as does his family and his beloved dogs. Quite simply, he prefers to stay busy as working is what he’s always done. When asked if he ever thinks about slowing down, he asks, “what does that mean?”

William Shatner is now teaming with Hearing Life to help educate people about hearing loss.

And as if he didn’t have enough to do, the actor, who suffers from tinnitus after an onset pyrotechnics effect in Star Trek: The Original Series exploded right near his ear, has joined HearingLife’s campaign, “Livee Your Life to the Fullest.” It’s to encourage people to get their hearing checked and to educate them about hearing loss and to help erase the stigma attached to hearing aids.

"“Getting your hearing checked is critically important. It’s as important as getting your health checked, your eyes checked. There’s a stigma attached to the hearing aid, so that stigma’s got to go. HearingLife is doing that.”"

Dean Pappous, the President of HearingLife, said the HearingLife team was thrilled to be working with Shatner to increase awareness about the importance of quality hearing care as he is a “is beloved and recognized as a trusted, inspiring icon in American culture.”

There’s no denying that Shatner maintains a busy schedule, but he also makes time for the things that are important to him, and clearly, this is a subject that is.
