We have updates on Star Trek’s Prodigy and Strange New Worlds.

Star Trek fans got to have a fun time in 2022 with the premiers of Strange New Worlds and the first season of Prodigy. Prodigy became Star Trek’s first show to hit 20 episodes in a season since Enterprise and many fans would love to see more of that going forward. More episodes per season, fewer series overall. We don’t know if that’ll happen, but we do know when Prodigy fans can expect to see season two.

Series producer Kevin Hageman has confirmed Prodigy will be getting released in 2023 and will carry yet another 20-episode order for the season. Should the series continue to see the same success in season two as it did in season one, then it’s very possible it’ll be the first series to hit 100 episodes since Star Trek: Voyager in 1998.

Considering Prodigy was the reason that Trek and Playmates got back into bed with one another with their new line of action figures, it seems possible they can make it to five seasons.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds arriving on DVD and Blu Ray

Fans of Strange New Worlds shouldn’t be too upset about things either Season one went wonderfully and fans are excited for 2023 to see its second season. It’s a season with a huge crossover between Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks, and fans are very excited about that.

But fans can relieve the first season on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 21, 2023, with the 4K Ultra HD Steelbook edition of Strange New Worlds’ first season launching on May 16, 2023. The Steelbook edition is going to be more expensive and is considered the bigger collector’s item.

Fans should consider buying all of Star Trek’s properties they enjoy, as Paramount+ has proven to be unreliable when it comes to access to Trek content in the past.
