Star Trek logs on Instagram is back with more revelations about the cast of Star Trek: Picard, including Dr. Altan Soong.

Dr. Altan Soong, portrayed by Brent Spiner, had a large role on the first season of Star Trek: Picard as he assisted not only with the deactivation of Sutra who had killed Saga. He also perfected the golem which was then used by Admiral Jean-Luc Picard when he died from a terminal illness in the last episode of season one. Before PIcard’s brain functions stopped working, Soong, along with Dr. Jurati and Soji, created a map of Picard’s mind and transferred his consciousness to the golem which brought Picard back to life and left him free of the illness.

After season one Dr. Soong disappeared and has not been mentioned in Picard since his last appearance. Now, with the series returning for its third and possibly last season on February 16th, the Star Trek logs on Instagram have returned, and they’ve answered the question about Dr. Soong’s whereabouts.

The Star Trek logs only provides a brief reference to Dr. Soong.

But that reference is enough as, in Lore’s personnel file, Soong is referred to as the late Altan Soong when mentioning that Lore’s deconstructed body had been taken to the Daystrom Institute. Memory Alpha has the year of his death listed as 2399, but gives no indication how he perished.

Soong’s death would make sense if Lore is to be yet another villain in Picard’s final season as the doctor would be one of the only ones who knows how to deactivate him and make sure Lore couldn’t return. With him deceased, it will be up to the Starfleet crew and perhaps Professor Moriarty to return Lore back to the Daystrom Institute.

Next. Could Professor Moriarty be back to stop Lore In Star Trek: Picard?. dark
