Patrick Stewart reveals how much Star Trek has impacted his life.

You can’t deny that Star Trek has affected those who have been part of it. No matter the series or the films, the franchise’s impact has been very impressive. It’s impacted every name, from the smallest of cameos to the biggest of names. Few are bigger than Patrick Stewart, the man who brought Jean-Luc Picard to life on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

While appearing on the series no doubt rose his profile, fans may be surprised to hear about how affected by the franchise he was.

Stewart spoke to CBS News and revealed that there isn’t an aspect of his life that Star Trek didn’t affect, saying;

"It changed my life. There was nothing in my life that was not affected."

A life after Star Trek has been discussed

Patrick Stewart is most known for his turn as Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek and as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise. While those are his biggest roles to date, his most desired and appreciated roles, at least to him, seem to be his numerous stage plays.

Once Star Trek is over, the long-time actor will look to continue his work on the stage.

"…I think the moment has come when I’m going to return to the live theatre, to the stage. In fact, there are a couple of Shakespeare roles I’ve never played."

Star Trek may have changed his life for the better, but the reason he got the role in the first place was due to his Shakespearian performances, which of course come from his time as an actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

While he may not be returning to that specific company (he may), it looks like he wants to end his career the way he started it, and that’s pretty awesome.
