You can now watch Star Trek: Picard’s final season premiere for free on YouTube.

One of Star Trek’s most divisive and poorly reviewed shows in its history, Star Trek: Picard, is in its final season on Paramount+ and is hoping to go out with a much more positive experience than its first two seasons. So far, there appears to be some hope for that. Fans on IMDB gave the season three premier an 8.5, making it the highest-rated episode in the series’ history on the aggregate website.

Rotten Tomatoes has it as an 87% so far via the fandom, a much higher rate so far than the first two seasons combined. The first two seasons, combined, earned just 80%, with the second season netting a putrid 28%.

Either the fans who hated Picard aren’t watching it anymore, or the fans who did hate it, are loving the third season. Either way, this may be a reason for you to check it out.

"The farewell journey of a generation begins. Star Trek: Picard’s final season is now streaming on Paramount+."

Star Trek: Picard hopes to curry fans with the free episode

Star Trek: Picard and the Star Trek shows debuting for free on YouTube is not a new thing.  They do it all the time with the season premiere of a season. This allows them to try and get people interested in the show who have either never seen it or may have lapsed. There is no real proof, however, that shows this idea works.

Maybe with series premiers, as you have no idea what you’re getting into, but with a third-season episode, it seems highly unlikely that someone who sees it is going to run over to Paramount+ to sign up and start watching it.

But if you’re wanting to see if Picard is any good before investing any money, you now can watch it for free before deciding.
