Star Trek: Strange New Worlds took home awards for its costuming for season one.
This past Sunday night, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds collected three awards from the 2023 Canadian Alliance of Film and Television Costume Arts and Design (CAFTCAD) Awards, beating out its fellow Star Trek series, Discovery, according to Trekmovie.
And one of the episodes that helped bring home the awards was “The Elysian Kingdom,” which was rife with fantasy clothing. That episode’s costume designer, Bernadette Croft, won a Costume Design Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television award. Croft beat out fierce competition which included Snowpiercer, The Expanse, What We Do In The Shadows, and Titans. “The Elysian Kingdom” was a truly spectacular episode that showcased beautiful clothing and set builds, and the designer was truly deserving of the award.
