After forty years, a musical Star Trek parody of the popular movie, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is actually coming to fruition.

It’s unknown whether or not a musical based upon the extremely successful Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan has been in demand, but the show, co-written and composed by Brent Black, who also provided the lyrics, will arrive on off-Broadway on May 4, 2023. Khan!!! The Muscial!: A Parody Trek-tacular will run as a five-week limited engagement at Off-Broadway’s Players Theatre.

According to BroadwayWorld, the musical is set in 2366, and Lt. Commander Data (who was played by Brent Spiner or Star Trek: The Next Generation but is not a part of the musical), is the brains behind this holographic tale. In the story, Captain Kirk is older and having issues with aging when Khan escapes exile and vows to exact revenge against his nemesis. The games are afoot, and the adventure includes Vulcan tap dancing, Kirk’s long-lost son, who will be portrayed by a William Shatner impersonator, and for some odd reason, mutant space chickens.
