Star Trek: Picard’s finale is getting the IMAX treatment

Star Trek: Picard looks like it’s going out in style thanks to IMAX theaters.

Star Trek: Picard will end its run next week with the 10th and final episode of the series. It brought back the entire core cast of The Next Generation for season three and has been saying goodbye to other characters from the franchise over the previous two prior seasons.

Now, with the series going off into the final frontier forever after next week, the folks in charge want fans to experience the show’s finale right. On Wednesday, April 19, 10 IMAX theaters will be hosting special screenings of the franchise’s goodbye.

The listing on Variety claims that the experience will include “early screenings” of the last two episodes, but it’s more likely they mean episode 9, “Vox” and episode 10 “The Last Generation”. Fans of course who get into the IMAX screenings will get to see the series finale a day before everyone else.

Also, if you’re one of the lucky few in the Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, or Washington DC area who will be hosting the screenings, you’ll also have the chance to get special giveaways in the form of a season three Picard poster, and complimentary concessions.

After the show airs, streaming live from the Los Angeles screening, fans in all 10 venues will be able to take part in a Q&A with Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Jeri Rivan, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Brent Spiner and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Terry Matalas.
