Star Trek should bring back one of these three shows instead of Star Trek: Voyager.

My favorite Star Trek show is Voyager. Star Trek: Voyager hooked me as a youngster in that none of the other Star Trek shows could. The cast, the ship, and even the idea of being lost decades away from Earth, and having to make do with small quarters. That all appealed to me.

So when it was announced that Kathryne Janeway would be returning in Star Trek: Prodigy, once again played by Kate Mulgrew, I lept into action and watched the entire series. And man, it was a good, light-hearted but truly Trek-like Star Trek series.

Protostar continued on the story of the Voyager crew to an extent and showed us what Janeway and Chakotay were up to. With Chakotay missing in action and Janeway now the steward of the alien teens from the Delta Quadrant, it kind of set up its second season as a mix of Voyager and new.

Which is why a Voyager reboot seems redundant. Instead of bringing back Voyager, alongside Prodigy, here are three other shows that deserve a second shot.

Three other shows Star Trek should consider rebooting instead of Voyager

Enterprise

Bringing back the crew of the NX-01 Enterprise and finalizing their story would be a great treat to fans of the series. The series finale was more about Will Riker and Deanna Troi than it was about the end of the adventures of these characters and that’s kind of messed up. A limited series run would be perfect to finalize the tails from the first-ever Enterprise.

Deep Space Nine

Deep Space Nine is the one show you can and would need to, incorporate past and present Star Trek action into one. Making it a slice-of-life show with Kira Neryse at the helm, welcoming back Jake Sisko, and watching as the two adjust to life on Deep Space Nine with new characters around them would be wonderful. Sadly if it did happen, it wouldn’t include Odo or Nog, whose actors passed away, or Armin Shimerman, who doesn’t want to wear the makeup for Quark ever again. With the ages of everyone else in their 70s or 80s, it’d be smart to focus on mostly new characters in this rebooted series.

The Animated Series

It’d be a continuation of the actual original series of stories, set between the events of the original series and the film series but voiced by the Kelvin crew. Though to be clear, it’d be the prime timeline’s stories they’re telling. Just with the Kelvin Timeline’s actors.
