With rumors of a Star Trek: Voyager revival in the works, we have three plot points the show could center around.

While it may seem unnecessary to do a Star Trek: Voyager revival, especially since Star Trek: Prodigy has essentially been done already, there is talk about more nostalgia-infused entertainment. Never mind that the franchise rose to fame and success by not relying on the old, but pushing the new. No, we’re going to choose to look at this as a good idea.

Not only that, we’re going to choose to see how you build a series around a concept like the return of the Voyager crew. Again, ignoring the fact that Kathryne Janeway, Chakotay, and Seven of Nine have already returned, what type of event could cause the crew of the Voyager to return to action?

Well, we have some interesting ideas we think could work.

Three ideas that could make a Star Trek: Voyager revival work

Rescuing Chakotay and or Neelix

With the events of Prodigy playing out, more than likely a couple of decades before the events of the proposed Voyager return would be set, continuing on the story of “Chakotay is missing” may not make the most sense. Instead, you could do a distress call from Neelix, forcing the crew of the Voyager to find a way back into the Delta Quadrant.

Another Caretaker

I mean, Picard basically just told a three-season story about “Borg still bad”, so why not do another series involving the crew of the Voyager coming together to deal with another Caretaker?

The Borg make Kathryne Janeway their queen

Star Trek: Picard really screwed up in how they wrote the Borg Queen. They really focused on her being an actual entity, instead of a collection of billions of minds in one, for lack of a better term, nerve cluster. So if we’re going to retcon the Queen into an actual character, why not have Janeway become the new queen, and the crew has to rescue her? It’s no more nonsensical than bringing back the show.
