Star Trek: Picard just wrapped its third and final season on April 20th.

It was an incredible season, and I, along with many other fans, can only thank showrunner Terry Matalas, the actors, crew, and everyone else who had a hand in this season. Matalas reinvigorated the series in its last season, and though I was a fan of all the other seasons as well, I can honestly say this one was my favorite. So what’s with the title of this post then?

The only thing that disappointed me about this season was the length of the season itself. Ten episodes just flew by, making the season way too short for me. Can you imagine what Matalas could have done with even two more episodes? I think that is one of the many, many reasons why we need to see a spin-off of Star Trek: Picard. What happened in this season offers opportunities for Star Trek characters to practically sail into their own series.

Star Trek: Picard has gotten some negativity from fans who didn’t care for seasons one and two.

Although those seasons didn’t appeal to every fan, I’m going to be surprised if anyone really hated season three. I’m a Star Trek fan who loves Star Trek, and I can find something good in every episode of every series. I might not like everything about the episode, but there is always something to enjoy. I’ve even previously written on finding the good in the bad episodes of Trek, like Star Trek: The Original Series’ “The Apple.”

For this season of Picard, I loved watching the actors, seeing them all reunited, and being surprised by the cameos. And there were so many other things that will make this season a definite rewatch for me. Things like: the rechristening of the USS Titan to the USS Enterprise, Admiral Picard’s conversation with his son inside of the Borg, Riker and Troi’s conversation about their son while they were being held captive, the opening scene of the season with Dr. Crusher blasting a phaser rifle, and Worf’s incredible entrance, and so, so many more. Too many for me to name here.

So while I say it was disappointing we didn’t have more episodes, I am happy with what we received, and think this will long remain one of my favorite seasons of Star Trek ever.

Next. Star Trek: Picard brings Worf back in the best possible way. dark
