The Star Trek: Voyager episode, Threshold, will always be a controversial one.

I’ve previously shared my opinion of this episode, and I still believe it wasn’t that bad until the mutation started happening. Had that not occurred and another ending had been chosen, this could have been a good episode. Unfortunately, though, the mutations did happen, Tom Paris kidnapped Captain Janeway, and took her to a swamp on a planet where they made, in no other way to describe it, lizard babies. To this day, that is a part of the episode that practically every fan ridicules. And, honestly, who can blame them?

A Youtuber with the channel named Star Rekt took it a step further, though and shared a hilarious parody for the episode set to Barry Manilow’s soulful song “Looks Like We Made it.” The title has been changed to “Looks Like We Mated.” And the Youtuber created a completely hysterical version of the song that encapsulates what was wrong with Threshold.

The episode, Threshold, is seen in a different light thanks to this parody.

The Youtuber, wearing a Starfleet uniform, appears to be playing a piano before breaking into song. Overlaid with wistful clips of Captain Janeway and Lt. Tom Paris looking at each other in soft lighting, the video starts with a couple of lines that actually makes it seem like it’s going to be a regular song. Then those segue to the horror of what Tom Paris’ mutated body made him do.

"“There you are, looking just the same as you did before I kidnapped you.”"

The lyrics are interspersed with additional clips from the episode, some of which we’d rather not have seen again, but they do work with the song. And the parody includes the lizard babies which only adds to the hilarity. This Youtuber knocked this one out of the park! Watch it and see what you think!

Next. Opinion: Bride of Chaotica is so much worse than Threshold. dark
