Star Trek: Resurgence isn’t the only game making waves after the end of Star Trek: Picard.

Star Trek: Picard’s end has seemingly kicked off a whole slew of new things for the world of Star Trek games. We now know that the upcoming game, Star Trek: Resurgence, will feature former Star Trek: Picard (and The Next Generation) star Jonathan Frakes, reprising his role as William Riker.

His arrival will see him and Spock be just two of the confirmed legacy characters fans can see in the game. With Resurgence right around the corner, it’s not hard to forget that it’s not the only game out there that Trek fans can play.

The long-running Star Trek Online is still around and doing well for anyone looking for a different style of Star Trek gaming. Online, as its name implies, is an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game), which allows players to log on and play with other players, as everyone works threw various story elements that the game provides. It’s a unique experience, and like Resurgence, it’ll feature elements of Picard.

Star Trek: Picard’s newest ship will be part of Star Trek Online

Online has a history of bringing elements from television and films into their games. They even bring in facets of the books and comics as well. So it’s no surprise that the online game will now be bringing in new elements first seen in Picard.

Fans of the game will soon be able to take control of the Enterprise-G, first seen in Picard during the series finale. The ship will join the game as part of the new chapter dubbed “Unraveled”.

"Following events from the conclusion of the Mirror Universe story arc, “Terran Gambit”, your Captain will embark on a humanitarian scientific mission with Captain Kuumaarke (voiced by Kipleigh Brown) to stabilize the Na’kuhl sun. However, this mission is interrupted by a discovery; a transdimentional Reality Vortex is disrupting space-time throughout the Multiverse. A conflict ensues with the Tholians, who reveal that constant use of time and dimensional travel has caused these vortices – and your Captain is partly to blame."

According to TrekMovie.com, fans of the upcoming game can expect the following elements added to the new season;

"New Episode – Wish Upon a Star: While on a scientific humanitarian mission with Captain Kuumaarke, your Captain will discover a group of Tholians interacting with a Reality Vortex. Their intentions and goals are unknown.New Task Force Operation – Leviathan: A five-player space Task Force Operation simulating a Trench Run exercise across “The Other” in a “What if?” scenario if the “Terran Gambit” arc had ended differently.Two new Patrols: Jupiter Gauntlet and Bringers of War, based off of the “Terran Gambit” story arc. New Hard Mode is included as well for an extra challenge.Lockbox and Lobi Store Items: Strange New World items and the T6 Gorn Hunter Pilot Raider have been added to the Infinity Lockbox. Starfleet and Majalan items from Season 1 of Strange New World have been added to the Lobi Crystal Consortium."

The newest season is set to debut on May 9, and the game is free to play. You can play the game on various Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as with a PC.
