San Diego Comic-Con starts soon, and while there will be a Star Trek Universe panel, Star Trek: Prodigy is missing.

Star Trek fans look forward to comic-cons each year, especially San Diego Comic-Con which usually brings behind-the-scenes coverage on our favorite shows, sneak peeks, and details about what we can expect in the future from all of the current Star Trek series. This year, in a move that is sure to be seen as one more blow to Star Trek: Prodigy, the animated series is being left ouf of the descriptions, and, most likely, the panel.

Our site’s co-expert, Chad Porto, recently reported on the coming events for SDCC, and there is not one mention of Prodigy, the series that was uncermoniously cancelled by Paramount+. While CBS Studios is shopping for a new home for the series, SDCC is the perfect time to give fans some updates about where things stand with it. And perhaps that will happen, but, from the looks of things, Prodigy is being left out with panels focusing on shows that will air or are airing on Paramount+.

On the plus side, Star Trek Las Vegas will have a panel for Star Trek: Prodigy

On August 3, 2023, Star Trek Las Vegas begins, and Kate Mulgrew and Kevin and Dan Hageman (the creators and showrunners for Prodigy) are confirmed to be in attendance. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like anyone else from Prodigy will be attending, but at least there is a possibility of new information, although it might be too soon to really know much.

Mulgrew and the Hagemans seem committed to continuing the series, or, at the very least, making season two, which is in post-production, available for viewing for those fans who are going to miss this series when it airs its final episode.
