Star Trek fans should expect to hear bad news from Paramount+ the longer the strike goes on.

Star Trek fans need to realize something right now, these strikes will affect the future of the brand going forward. The writer’s strike was bad enough, as no production among the major studios, which Paramount+ is a part of, can continue. If you can’t write a script, how can you make a show? Then the writer’s strike happened several months later, making it impossible to even now promote what was already created.

The actor’s strike won’t add any more issues to the creation of a Star Trek show that the writer’s strike didn’t bring to the table, but it won’t help things any. Especially when dealing with a bunch of studios that would rather penny-pinch their way to record profits, instead of sharing the wealth.

This dogmatic mindset by the studios, some of whom want to starve out the striking workers to the point of losing their homes, has turned this into an ugly and bitter affair.

An affair that will have casualties.

Star Trek may see more shows cut due to the actor’s strike

I applaud the actors and actresses for going out and demanding better pay, same as I do with the writers, yet, it’s important to note that these executives are being dragged daily, and their egos are being dinged. Not to mention their studios are now losing money hand over fist.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility that due to greed, ego, or simply economic facts, more shows than before are going to get axed in mid-production or even pre-production.

We already saw Star Trek: Prodigy canceled, just months after getting a renewal for a second season. Canceled, by the way, in mid-production. With how expensive Star Trek is to make, if these strikes last a long time, this is the franchise that Paramount+ would likely have to start pulling back on.
