All five actors who appeared in Star Trek and the new film Oppenheimer.
The Oppenheimer fan fair has started for the latest film by Christopher Nolan. The film, which documents the life of Julius Robert Oppenheimer, features stunning performances from the elite of the elite. And while a three-hour film is always a tough sitting to get through, the talent in the film was top-notch.
And why shouldn’t it have been, it featured five actors who appeared in Star Trek and Star Trek only works with the best. That said, it’s important to note that some of the names on this list may be hard to spot, as the makeup department went full-on for this film.
But who were the five Oppenheimer names that appeared in Star Trek?
Five Star Trek actors who appeared in Oppenheimer
Scott Grimes – The Next Generation episode Evolution
If you didn’t see Scott Grimes in the film, or notice him at all, we don’t blame you. We only know that Grimes was in the film thanks to IMDB. Grimes, most known for his roles as Steve Smith on American Dad and his involvement in the Trek-homage show, The Orville, Grimes appeared in The Next Generation’s “Evolution” as a bit character.
John Gowans – The Motion Picture
John Gowans had a significant role in one of the three time periods depicted in Oppenheimer’s core story, but before he was deciding the central character’s worthiness for security clearance, he was a background character on The Motion Picture, playing a teleporter assistant.
Harry Groener – Enterprise: Demons and Terra Prime/TNG: Tin Man/ VOY: The Magistrate
Arguably the most traveled Trek actor in the film is Harry Groener, who played roles in Enterprise, Voyager, and The Next Generation, with arguably his best roles coming in Enterprise, where he played Nathan Samuels.
Steven Houska – Voyager: The Swarm
Another Trek actor who popped up in Oppenheimer was Steven Houska, who had a small role on Star Trek Voyager’s episode, “The Swarm”.
Jack Quad – Lower Decks: Brad Boilmer
Lastly and most recognizable is Jack Quaid, star of The Boys and Star Trek: Lower Decks. Quaid undoubtedly has/had the biggest role of anyone on this list when it comes to Trek, while also having the largest role of anyone from Trek in Oppenheimer.
