Star Trek: Lower Decks’ fourth season is coming soon and Jack Quad is hyped for it.

Star Trek: Lower Decks will soon have a fourth season for fans to gorge on. The hyper-stylistic cartoon, modeled after Rick and Morty, has been a hit with the most die-hard of Star Trek fans, with its irreverent humor and desire to tear down long-standing stables of Star Trek lore. It’s a show that definitely has its fans and critics.

It’s found an audience in the Trek community, thanks to fans who enjoy deconstructed anti-heroes, and a huge dose of nostalgia in every episode. Season four promises more of the same and for fans of the franchise, they’re very excited.

Speaking to Wil Wheaton during a recent episode of The Ready Room, Star Trek: Lower Decks’ star Jack Squaid spoke about the show’s fourth season and what fans should expect, saying;

"Season Four is going to be very very fun. Our first episode is like a big love letter to fans. I can’t exactly explain why… but it’s really exciting."

Star Trek: Lower Decks to follow Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

The newest season of Star Trek: Lower Decks is set to debut in September, sometime after Star Trek: Strange New Worlds ends. Right now the show is set to premier its fourth season on Sept. 7, 2023, but due to the hastened posting of Strange New Worlds, and it’s release of three episodes in six days, there’s a good possibility that the latest season of Lower Decks may be bumped up to start sooner.

Its future is also up in the air, as a writer’s strike and an actor’s strike have made working on any new seasons impossible, not to mention the lack of money that Star Trek currently has due to Paramount+’s budget cuts.

After the cancelation of Prodigy while in mid-production for season two, it’s very possible, if not likely, that Lower Decks may be on its last legs.
