Star Trek: Lower Decks will bring back a popular Star Trek: Deep Space Nine couple.

Star Trek: Lower Decks has been a show that has focused on bringing in major names from past installments of Star Trek since its debut. Names we’ve seen return to the franchise for the series include Robert Duncan McNeil (Tom Paris), John de Lancie (Q), Jonathan Frakes (Will Riker), as well as famed Trek actors but playing a new role. Like with Jeffrey Combs, who famously played Thy’lek Shran on Enterprise, but then played AGIMUS on Lower Decks.

Well, Lower Decks will continue the trend of bringing back established characters from past versions of Trek, this time with Rom and his wife Leeta. Rom was the hapless brother of Quark on Deep Space Nine, who didn’t have “the lobes” for business but ended up being a near-genius if not a complete genius when it came to electronics and system maintenance.

Rom would later go on to be the Grand Nagus at the end of the show’s run.

Leeta, like Rom, worked for Quark when we first meet her, serving as a Dabo Girl in Quark’s bar. She would stay with the bar and would go on to help form a union, while also falling in love with Rom. The two would later marry.

Now it appears that we get to see more of their story on Lower Decks.

Rom and Leeta returning for Star Trek: Lower Decks

Rom and Leeta seem to be ready for their debut with Lower Decks, but the talent that brought them to life, Max Grodenchik and Chase Masterson are unknown at the moment to be reprising their roles. Masterson is currently not listed on IMDB to be reprising her role, nor is Grodenchik. In fact, Grodenchik hasn’t worked in nearly two years.

So it remains to be seen if they’ll be back as their iconic Trek characters.
