Every actor who has played every member of the Kirk family in Star Trek

Can you name all of the Kirks and their actors and actresses from across Star Trek?

Recently, William Shatner, Paul Wesley, and Dan Jeannotte all attended the Star Trek: Las Vegas convention, celebrating the history of the franchise with its 57-Year-Mission Convention. In a rare photo-op, all three men stood with one another and chatted with the crowd. It was a monumental moment in the history of the franchise.

Of course, Shatner and Wesley are both known now for playing James T. Kirk, while Shatner and Jeannotte are both known for playing James’ younger brother George Samuel Kirk. The only relevant actor to have played a Kirk in any significant measure to not attend was Chris Pine, who may or may not be done with the franchise as of this writing.

And it made us remember that Chris Hemsworth played the father of Pine’s Kirk. They were George and James Kirk respectively in the 2009 reboot of Star Trek, and as it turns out, they are just some of the many names who have played a Kirk.

What Kirks have appeared on Star Trek and who played them?

Obviously, James Kirk comes first in the timeline of events, so we’ll start with him. Shatner made Kirk famous, and Wesley brought him to live on Strange New Worlds, while Pine would portray him in the 2009 film. Joining Pine in the ’09 film were Joy Dever, who played the infant James T, and Jimmy, who was the adolescent version of the character who trashed a pristine classic car.

Of course, Kirk has a brother, George Samuel, who was played by both Shatner and Jeannotte, but that brother would end up having a wife and a son who would appear on screen. Aurelan would marry George Samuel sometime before the events of the first series and would have three sons, but only one, Peter, would ever get screen time. Aurelan was played by Joan Swift, while Craig Huxley played Peter.

Of course, the Kirk’s didn’t just exist in Strange New Worlds and the Original Series, but in the 2009 Trek film as well. Pine’s version of Kirk never got to show off most of his family but he did get to see his father, George, played by Hemsworth, go down with the ship. Hemsworth is most known for playing Thor and has truly excelled as an action star as of late.

Then his mother, Winona, would go on to marry his step-father, a character we’ve never seen. Though we saw his car. Winona was played by Jennifer Morrison, who has been in This Is Us, Once Upon a Time, and How I Met Your Mother, as well as the film Warrior.
