Star Trek Day 2023 is happening!
Paramount has announced that Star Trek Day 2023 is in fact happening, despite the ongoing writer and actors’ strike. Announced on Aug. 24 by Paramount, via a press release, the fourth annual Star Trek Day will in fact be happening on Sept. 8. Though with a quieter event in mind.
The annual event will go hand in hand with the launch of the new season of Star Trek: Lower Decks, which will debut on Paramount+ the day before on Sept. 7. Fans who don’t want to watch it on their computers or televisions can look up their local theaters and see if the two-part premier is on the big screens. This is part of Star Trek’s celebration of 50 years of animated Trek action, with the original animated series premiering in 1973.
According to Paramount+, you can watch a special screening of the series in theaters if you live in Columbus OH, Dallas TX, Denver CO, Philadelphia PA, Phoenix AZ, San Diego CA, St. Louis MO, and Washington D.C. for US residents.
If you live in Canada, you can see screens in Calgary, AB, and Vancouver BC. United Kingdom fans, you’ll have to go to London, England to see the show on the big screen.
The screenings are free to attend, as are some concessions, and start at 12 P.M. ET. These will *NOT* be from the fourth season, but instead will be ” four specially selected episodes”. The event will also include surprises, giveaways, and sneak peeks.
If you can’t get out to the films, that’s ok, as Strange New Worlds will debut on television with the first two episodes of its series, starting at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
That’s not all, as Star Trek fans can use a promo code StarTrekDay at https://shop.StarTrek.com for 25% off all items sitewide.
