Star Trek: Lower Decks premiered a new trailer to hype up Season 4.

The newest season of Star Trek: Lower Decks is only days away, and the folks at Paramount+ have decided to drop a new trailer to hype up the show. The show is set to release on Thursday, Sept. 7, and when they do, they’ll be revisiting the world of Star Trek: Voyager with their first episode, “Twovix”.

A play on the episode title from Voyager, “Tuvix”, which saw the characters Tuvok and Neelix get merged into one, wholly unique being, for the episode. The episode comes to an end when Janeway decides to separate Tuvix the same way he was created, albeit against his will. While he did cease to exist, Janeway saved the lives of two of her crew. Neither of whom asked to be joined.

This episode will also see the return of the USS Voyager as well.

The second episode, which will also drop on the 7th of September, is called “I Have No Bones, Yet I Must Flee”, a reference to Leonard “Bones” McCoy, as well as the short story, “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream”. The latter was a scientific horror story of an artificial intelligence gone mad. This could and will likely, play into the plot of the episode.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is bringing back some notable characters

One of the bigger names returning to the show, as seen in the trailer, is Badgey, a hologram designed by Sam Rutherford, which has gone mad. It’s likely he may be the villain of the second episode of the season, considering he’s an AI construct of sorts, and the title of the episode alludes to a short story about that very idea.

Overall, it looks like another standard season for Lower Decks, but the talk is that the show may have some tweaks to it, so we’ll have to see what happens with the series going forward.
