A new Star Trek video game is officially arriving in October

Star Trek fans can now get a new video game this coming October.

Buckle up video game fans, a brand new video game is coming to a computer near you this fall. Launching officially on Oct. 12, 2023, Star Trek: Infinite will try to live up to its namesake. In this brand-new game, you can control your own story.

The game lets you develop and create your very own factions within the Trek universe, with missions that will include treaties with minor nations, spying and espionage of other groups, as well as battle scenarios where you’re forced to defend or take territory.

It’s only comin’ got PC and MAC games to start, but a larger release may be possible later.

It’s being developed by Paradox Interactive, creators of Imperator: Rome, Crusader Kings III, Europa Universalis IV, among others They’re very familiar with the “grand strategy” of gameplay, and the hope is that theTrek game will be just as deep and unique as their other offerings.

"Beginning decades before the Star Trek: The Next Generation era, Star Trek: Infinite grants players the power to shape the galaxy’s destiny as a faction of their choice. The immersive grand strategy game puts players in the captain’s chair to lead one of four unique Quadrant Powers: The United Federation of Planets, Romulan Star Empire, Cardassian Union, or Klingon Empire. While remaining faithful to Star Trek lore, Star Trek: Infinite introduces fresh avenues for adventure as players can explore the Alpha and Beta quadrants, govern empire dynamics, handle economic intricacies, and engage with undiscovered civilizations."

Star Trek: Infinite looks to bring a unique experience to gamers

Fans of the Star Trek franchise will likely love a game where they can control as much space as they can. The layers to this look impressive and while we’ll have to wait for the game to come out to properly judge it, it looks very impressive and should be a fun and exciting affair for anyone interested enough to check it out.
