Patrick Stewart is now a New York Times bestselling author, but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to leave acting behind.

Patrick Stewart’s memoir, Making it So: A Memoir, which released on Otober 3, has already hit the New Yor Times Bestsellers’ List in #5 in Hardcover Nonfiction and #7 in Print and Ebook combined on the list. And, in a recent interview with Deadline, Stewart called the news an “unexpected honor.”

And now that the book is written and released, Stewart is ready to move on to more adventures in his life, one of which is another Star Trek: The Next Generation movie.

Patrick Stewart thinks one more adventure would be best as a film.

The 83-year-old legend admits that his stamina isn’t what it used to be and that he was ready for a rest after filming seasons two and three of Star Trek: Picard back to back. But he’s still up for one more adventure with his colleagues and friends because he wants a more significant goodbye than what happened at the end of Picard.

"“Yes, and I think would be best if it were a film. As when Next Generation came to an end, we then made four films. Now, I’m not suggesting that but I think given how different all of the principal characters are in in Picard everyone was changed by the passage of time. And this was Alex Kurtzman and Akiva Goldsman talking to me when they pitched Picard and about our lives have changed in 25 years. So, I would like to see the ensemble of us finding a more significant way of saying goodbye.”"

When asked how realistic his desire is, Stewart responded with “we’ll see.” Though no one has agreed to such a movie, that doesn’t mean Stewart is ready to let the idea go. In fact, he offered up that he is “quietly working away” at what could be the final time we see all of the cast of The Next Generation on screen together.

Though the ending of Picard was poignant and brought the crew full circle playing poker, a better ending could include a glimpse into their futures as well as an update on where their time in Starfleet has taken them.

Picard showed the characters twenty-five years after the ending of The Next Generation so a film could jump a little more into the future, allowing us to see them all in their element, perhaps working as a team at the begining before settling into life after the adventures.
