Quantum Leap – Season 3, Episode 5 – The Boogieman  (October 31, 1964)

From the doctor to the captain, the first captain that is, Captain Jonathan Archer of the first ever NX warp-five vessel, the NX-01 Enterprise. Archer is one of the best captains in all of Trek and is arguably the character that brought in the most established actor to play the role of a captain in all of franchise history.

That’s because Archer is played by famed sci-fi icon Scott Bakula. Bakula of course is most known for his turn as Dr. Sam Beckett in the franchise that never truly ended. At least not in a way any of the fans were hoping for. So before his time flying around the Alpha Quadrant dealing with Klingons, Bakula was hopping in and out of space and time, trying to right wrongs that befell people throughout history.

In this episode of the Quantum Leap, Sam leaps into the body of a second-rate horror writer during the events of Halloween in 1964. He’s witnessing a series of accidents that have taken the lives of those around him and soon threaten to take the not-so-famed writer as well.

Whether you’re a fan of Quantum Leap or not, this is considered the 20th-best episode on IMDB, so you know you’re getting a really good episode.
