Netflix is bringing something special to Star Trek: Prodigy fans on Christmas Day!
Paramount+ cancelled Star Trek: Prodigy in April and promptly removed all episodes of season one from the channel, preventing fans from rewatching. Netflix picked up the series in October after fans had waited five months for news on whether it was going to be continued. Not only will the channel air season one of the series, but season two will arrive sometime next year.
If you’ve been looking forward to seeing Dal, Gwyn, and the rest of the crew again, you can settle in for a rewatch on Christmas Day as that is when the first season will drop on Netflix. What a great gift to all of the fans who loved the series and wanted to #savestartrekprodigy. Netflix Geeked made the announcement earlier today!
Star Trek: Prodigy on Netflix on Christmas Day is an early gift to all of us!
And you can wind down the holiday, once the gifts are unwrapped and dinner is over, with your family by getting ready for season two of Prodigy. It’s been a while since the series has been available for streaming so some of us need a rewatch to refresh our memories. I mean, five months is a long time to go without seeing our favorite show so we can’t be blamed if we don’t quite remember every detail of each of the episodes of the series.
The creators of the series, Kevin and Dan Hageman, called the December 25th debut “a Christmas miracle.” And they couldn’t be more right as we honestly didn’t know if Prodigy was going to find another home. Even though positivity abounded, there were still moments of “what if?” Now, we’ve turned our attention to “can we go ahead and get a season three announcement?”
