Jonathan Frakes and Robert Picardo are well-known names in the Star Trek universe.
Jonathan Frakes was recently seen as Captain William Riker on the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard, and he’ll be back behind the cameras when he directs episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ third season. Robert Picardo, who for seven years portrayed The Doctor or Emergency Medical Hologram on Star Trek: Voyager, is voicing his character on Star Trek: Prodigy’s second season.
Both actors remain active in the Trek world, but they’re also not afraid to venture outside of it which is exactly what they’re doing in the upcoming Hallmark movie, A Biltmore Christmas, which is Frakes’ only non-Trek related project he has lined up for the forseeable future.
A Biltmore Christmas, which stars Jonathan Frakes and Robert Picardo, has a science fiction type of trope.
According to CinemaBlend, the movie is about a screenwriter named Lucy Hardgrove who is supposed to pen the remake of a Christmas classic. She then gets sent to the Biltmore Estate where it was filmed because her boss isn’t a fan of her re-imagined ending.
It’s there that, after knocking an hourglass over, Lucy discovers she can travel through time back to 1946 when the original movie is being filmed. There, she learns the real story about the film. Frakes plays Winston, who works at the Biltmore Estate, but there’s no indication of the character Picardo portrays in the movie which airs on the Hallmark channel on Sunday November 26 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Though this isn’t a Trek-related feature, the chance to see Frakes and Picardo working together is too good of an opportunity to pass up even if you’re opposed to Hallmark’s usual Countdown to Christmas fare.
