Star Trek: The Next Generation was one of the most heartwarming, heartbreaking, and believable depictions of humanity.

Airing for seven seasons before spinning off into four major motion pictures, Star Trek: The Next Generation showed the best and the worst of humanity even in what was supposed to be a future time. Though creator Gene Roddenberry didn’t believe there would be conflict, at least not between crew members at that time, conflict will always be a part of who we are as humans. And The Next Generation showed us the good, the bad, and the downright ugly, but it did so in such a way that we always knew there was hope.

Youtube creator “The Vandar” created a Next Generation tribute video that captures the essence of the series and the people living their lives centuries from now.

Star Trek: The Next Generation was about so much more than wars and dissension even among different races.

It was about finding the good in every bad situation. It was about creating believable scenarios that could take place in today’s society, though only with humans. Yes, some episodes wouldn’t work without the aliens, but the underlying themes and messages were definitely applicable to today.

The video created by The Vandar is a perfect composition that highlights the warmhearted moments between the crew as they continued a quest to find life out there. It reminds us of the heartbreak of Data losing his daughter, but also the softening of Worf toward his son. It’s all the characters at their best and even their worst, but it will, most of all, give you yet another reason to binge one of the most beloved series in all of Star Trek history. Watch the video above and see if you don’t feel the call to tune in again.
