Star Trek ornaments are some of the most beloved items in the history of the franchise and these are the five best that Hallmark has to offer.

Star Trek and Hallmark Ornaments have been a long-standing tradition for nearly 40 years. Starting in 1991, Star Trek and Hallmark have forged a bond that fans, old and new alike, continue to enjoy all these years later. It's become so popular that the ornaments usually sell out. They're collector's items after all and only so many are made at a time.

This year, we got some neat ones, my personal favorite being the new Captain Christopher Pike one, where he's sitting in the captain's chair aboard the Enterprise. It's a wonderful new addition to a line of great designs. The Hallmark line usually falls into one of three categories; ships from the franchise, characters from the franchise, or scenes from the franchise.

After pouring over just about all of the offerings from the last four decades, I think these are the five that are the best of the best. Your opinion will vary but these are the five we think hold the most weight.

5. 2003 - Scorpion attack fighter

Say what you will about Star Trek: Nemesis, but the Scorpion attack fighter is one of the best-looking ships Star Trek has ever designed and in 2003, fans were able to buy it as part of Hallmark's line of ornaments that year. It's black, sleek, and a total contrast to the usual Star Trek ship design. A perfect addition for any collector.

4. 2010 - Amok Time

The Amok Time release of 2010 is an iconic one. Based on the famous episode of the same name, which saw Spock and James Kirk clash, the 2010 Amok Time ornament highlights that battle. Not only does it capture perfectly the design of the characters and the essence of the moment, but it even plays the iconic music from the scene.

3. 2008 - The Trouble with Tribbles (2008)

Everyone who likes Star Trek seems to love the Trouble with Tribbles episode and this Hallmark keepsake is able to capture that episode perfectly. Depicting James Kirk, surrounded by Tribbles, fans can now own one of the most iconic scenes from one of the most beloved Star Trek episodes ever.

2. 2001 - Deep Space Nine

The runner-up is the Deep Space Nine space station, released in 2001, two years after the show officially ended. It's one of the most celebrated pieces of the Hallmark collection and even includes a recorded voice message from Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks)

1. 1991 - USS Enterprise NCC-1701

One of the hardest ornaments to find these days is the original release of the USS Enterprise. The original design of the ship is modeled off the television show and it first hit the shelves in 1991. Due to the unknown support the line would have in later years, this is arguably the hardest ornament to find in second-hand shops and maybe the most expensive.
